What does an LP cover really tell us about the music—and about the place where the music comes from?

In connection with our new café exhibition and the vinyl market in Hall 7, we invite you to a pop-up talk about our new exhibition LP Cover Art – The Sound of South Funen. Here, we’ll delve into the stories behind the iconic covers, the visual expressions, and the musical cultural heritage that have put South Funen on the musical map.

Our museum curator, Rasmus Rosenørn, will moderate a conversation with the exhibition’s curators and creators, Henning Harder and Rune Myhre. Together, they will explore how album covers not only reflect the music but also help shape identity, aesthetics, and musical genres.

Because every record has a story.
And some of the greatest stories begin locally.

From psychedelic ’60s covers and political ’70s expressions to hip-hop’s graffiti aesthetics and the music scenes of South Funen, the exhibition is also about roots, community, and the unique energy that can emerge in one place—and leave its mark far beyond the local area.

Where and when:
June 7 at 2:00 PM
The pop-up talk is free and takes place in the Rock Museum’s café.

Come and experience the stories behind the exhibition, the cover art, and the local roots that became part of Danish cultural heritage.
