Here you’ll find everything you need to know before your visit to the Rock Museum—including opening hours, admission prices, transportation, parking, accessibility, and amenities. We’ve compiled the most important information so you can easily plan your visit.

TICKETS

Tickets can be purchased at the entrance. We offer special discounts for students, groups, and members of Ældresagen. If you are a school class or a larger group, you can book a guided tour and enjoy a customized experience.

The museum is closed every Monday, but is open for school and group tours by appointment on those days. However, it is open every Monday during school breaks and on public holidays.

FAQs

Before you turn the volume all the way up, here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions about finding your way around, parking, the coat check, accessibility, and other practical details that will make your visit to the museum easier.

The Rock Museum is located in the Musicon district of Roskilde, about a 25-minute train ride from Copenhagen.

Roskilde Station offers regular service to Copenhagen, Copenhagen Airport, and the rest of Denmark.

The walk from the station takes 15 minutes along Musiconstien. Alternatively, you can take bus 202A from the station. You can useRejseplanen toplan your trip by public transportation.

The Rock Museum is located in Roskilde’s Musicon district, about a 30-minute drive from Copenhagen and just a stone’s throw from the“12, RoskildeS” highway exit. From there, it’s easy to drive to the parking garage at Indfaldet 4, 4000 Roskilde.

Musicon is a neighborhood that is constantly evolving. As a result, parking conditions change from time to time as new areas are developed. You can stay up to date on parking conditions andregulations in the area here.

You can buy tickets to the Rock Museum at the museum shop located at the museum entrance. It is not possible to buy tickets online.

Parking for up to 2 hours
Short-term parking is available along the side streets in the central area of Musicon. In some places, parking is limited to half an hour; in others, it is up to 2 hours. Remember to set your parking disc. You cannot extend your parking beyond the two-hour limit.

Please note that the car must be parked within the marked spaces.

Parking for more than 2 hours
If you plan to stay in the Musicon district for more than 2 hours, you can park in the parking garage at Indfaldet 4.

Between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.), you must register via the app or at a parking meter, and parking for more than 2 hours incurs a fee.

Mon–Fri 4:30 p.m.–8:00 a.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday, you can also park in the southernmost section of the BEC parking lot nearest the Sound Wall, with access from Bifaldet. No registration or payment is required.

Please be sure to check the on-site parking signs. The Rock Museum cannot be held responsible for any parking fees.

The entire museum is wheelchair accessible. We have a wheelchair available at the museum that we’re happy to lend out. Please call us if you’d like to reserve it for your visit.

We have a coat rack for outerwear and lockers for bags. Our coat rack is actually quite an experience in itself… and it’s completely free!

When taking photos and videos, keep three things in mind…

…it must be forpersonal use(e.g., vacation photos, photos you share online, etc.)

…you must follow our staff’s instructions.

…you’ll need a standard camera or phone (without a tripod) with a standard flash.

If you wish to record for commercial or professional use, you must enter into an agreement.

Our café serves lunch and has something for everyone—including children. Please note that the café opens at 11:00 a.m.Everyone is welcome—even if you don’t have a ticket to the museum.
