Ready, set, go!

Are you ready to step onto the stage like true rap stars? Ready, set, RAP! is a creative educational program where students work with rap, rhymes, rhythm, and community in collaboration with rapper and facilitator M.C. Caffe. The program combines Danish, music, and elements of visual arts, and through group exercises and creative activities, students’ confidence in using language is strengthened in a safe and motivating encounter with hip-hop culture and rap.

Danish, Music, and Visual Arts

After a rap-filled introduction to hip hop and rap, students make their way through the exhibition, past what may be the world’s largest turntable, and visit “The Hunt for the Cool Sound”—the museum’s own small home studio. Here they discover how music is made: from the microphone and mixing console to scratching and beats.
Through various exercises, students learn how to use a microphone, how sound works, and why the voice is a rapper’s most important instrument. They try their hand at scratching on a turntable, playfully experiment with rhymes and rhythm, and produce the class’s very own rap. Finally, the students take the stage together and perform their very own rap—with beats, attitude, and plenty of showmanship!

It’s 1.5 hours filled with energy, laughter, and creativity—where every student gets to stand in the spotlight and feel the magic of music.
